A bookstore is more than just shelves of text. A bookstore is a setting for exploration and discovery, a hub where ideas are shared, a “third place” beyond home, work and school where a sense of community can be nurtured.
Obeikan Bookstore opened in 1991 as one of the first bookstores in the Kingdom serving students as well as those who simply love to read. The motto we chose then, “enabling knowledge for life,” guides us to this day. Customers can browse more than 50,000 texts in Arabic and other languages and we add more than 500 new titles to our shelves each year, representing the best of the world’s emerging knowledge and literature. Obeikan Bookstore publishes original work in Arabic and translates important texts from international publishers, constantly extending the horizons of knowledge available in our region.
The Bookstore also offers knowledge-adjacent product categories such as stationery, school supplies and teaching aids, as well as devices such as smart phones, tablets, and computers and related accessories.
Our digital arm complements our physical store, making our well-curated title list available outside Riyadh.
